Today's KISS video is 2,000 Man from MTV Unplugged reunion. It is a cover of the 1967 Rolling Stones song originally recorded on the Dynasty album. This song would become a concert staple for Kiss and one of Ace Frehley's signature songs. Ace still has a great singing voice and really puts a lot into this unplugged performance. This was his first time back with KISS in about 15 years and he seemed incredibly excited to have that opportunity.
The Kiss video of the day is Lick It Up of of the album titled Lick It Up. While the album was not overly a success, the video for the title track certainly was. It was the first Kiss video to feature the band without its famous makeup. The video premiered on MTV on September 18, 1983 in a half-hour special hosted by MTV V.J., J. J. Jackson. Despite all the hype and promotion for the single, it stalled at #66 on the American Billboard Hot 100 charts, although it broke into the Top 40 in several other countries.
