What Will The New Kiss Album Sound Like?

Well, 2009 is upon us and with it the news that KISS will release a new album this year. Reportedly, the new album will feature thirteen brand new songs. Nine of which written by lead singer Paul Stanley, one by lead guitarist Tommy Thayer and three by bassist Gene Simmons. Initial reports indicate it will sound a lot like vintage KISS, which we can only hope and pray is true. The last full original album was Psycho Circus, in 1998. It is hard to believe that it has been ten plus years since we had a full length release from the hottest band in the world. The lineup will feature Stanley, Simmons, Thayer and drummer Eric Singer. KISS fans yearn for the vintage heart pounding songs that were written in the early days on works such as the self titled, first album, KISS and every album in between up until Double Platinum. The closest thing to come out of the KISS discography, since 1978, that matches the early work would be the 1992 release of Revenge. While each album in between has it's great songs, KISS fans usually look at the total package when comparing the vast number of releases. The albums of the late 80's were pretty much filler and the band still had many lineup changes and immense issues to still work through. The current lineup seems to be cohesive enough to get back to where the band came from, musically speaking. KISS fans, want the best, and hopefully the 2009 album will get us the best.

"To put the biggest question to rest, YES this is a real venture and we are going to do everything we can to be sure Ace is given the opportunity to take a journey into outer space.

During the last 10 months since we started this venture, our priority has been to establish our mission and do the due diligence to make sure it was even possible. Now that we know it is, our next objective is to make sure Ace is given the opportunity.

We have chosen VH1 to document this mission from the ground up and yesterday, Jeff Olde, VH1 Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production, was given the latest top secret details regarding this mission."
